Switch Templates for Free Once your document is formatted, you can try it in a different template instantly - it won’t count against your monthly limit. Experiment with looks until you find the one that fits the occasion, all from the same source text.
Drag In Your Existing Draft Don’t bother copying and pasting. Just drag a .txt, .pdf or .docx file straight into Format Magic and we’ll extract the text for you - ready to format with any template.
Build Your Own Branded Image Library Upload your logo and brand images once and they’re available in every document you create. Drop them in wherever you need - perfect for keeping reports, proposals and pitch decks consistently on-brand.
Auto-Generate a Table of Contents Tick “Generate Table of Contents” in the Formatting Options and Format Magic builds one from your H1, H2 and H3 headings (depth adjustable). Once it’s in your document, untick the option to lock it - your manual edits in the Revise Output editor (delete an entry, reword a label) then stick when you re-create the PDF. Want to remove the TOC from your document entirely? Untick the option, delete the dashed-outline TOC block in the Revise Output editor, and re-create the PDF. Already have a TOC in your input text? Format as usual then delete your original TOC from the Revise Output editor - the Format Magic one stays in place with correct page numbers and clickable links.
Add Page Breaks Where You Want Them Need a section to start on a fresh page? In the Revise Output editor, place your cursor where you want the break and use the page break button in the toolbar. Then regenerate the PDF and your new layout is locked in.
Only Formatting Counts Toward Your Monthly Limit The “Click to Format Magic” button is the only thing that uses your monthly character allowance. Editing in Revise Output, adding page breaks or images, switching templates and regenerating the PDF are all free - so tweak away without using any of your monthly limit.
Got Wide Tables? Go Landscape Wide tables need room to breathe. Flip Landscape on in the Formatting Options (before or after formatting) and re-create the PDF. A good rule of thumb is anything with six or more columns, or lots of text in each cell. No re-format needed if you change your mind.
Change Your Mind After Formatting Cover page, table of contents, page numbers, page size and orientation can all be toggled after your document is formatted. Adjust them in the Formatting Options and click “Create PDF with Current Options”. No re-format, no monthly limit used.
Keep Your Source Formatting Got bold, italics or headings in your draft you want preserved? Tick “Keep Source Emphasis” before formatting and Format Magic will hold onto them while still applying your template styling. Works best with .docx and rich-text input. Learn more in the FAQ
